Course Description

Computers now pervade business, education, work, home and social life. It is vital to industry commerce and entertainment. We can scarcely avoid interacting with computers, whether we want to or not. This course introduces the learner to computer expertise that will enable him/her to compete favourably in the dynamic technology – based business world, and to fit adequately in the information economy.

Course Objectives

The Learner will be able to;

  1. Understand the common hardware and software components used to enhance business activities.
  2. Acquire the basic word processing skills needed to prepare business documents.
  3. Acquire the basic computation skills needed to prepare business documents.

 Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course, the Learner should be able to;

  1. Create and edit electronic documents using word processor.
  2. Carry out computations using Ms excel for example prepare a budget using Ms Excel.
  3. Use different hardware components to carry out business activities.
