Micro-insurance

Course description

Micro-insurances is a product designed to help poor people to better cope with the many risks they are faced with. The range of micro-insurances is broad. This course will familiarize students with the most important types of micro-insurance, the latest developments and international best-practices. This course has been designed to provide insights into the need for social security for the poor, the environment that enables this facility and also providing an overview of the landscape of Micro insurance in the developing world.

Objectives

1. Understanding of the landscape of Micro insurance in developing world
2. Understand the principles of providing microinsurance to the poor
3. Understand the driving forces behind micro insurance products and client protection
4. Understand the delivery model of microinsurance

1. Appreciate operational framework for micro insurance.
