Essentials of loss adjusting

Course Description

The knowledge of insurance and professional conduct within the claims domain forms the core of the principles of Loss Adjusting. This course will deal with managing relationships in the claims-handling process, the process to policy analysis for coverage evaluations. Further the course will cover the fundamentals of investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement within the claims process.

Course Objectives

  1. To create an understanding of the nature of insurance and the various classes of insurance
  2. To provide fundamental knowledge of the technical and other aspects of loss adjusting and insurance
  3. To create an awareness of the need for professional responsibility in those handling loss adjusting

Learning outcomes

At the end of this course students will be able;

  1. To undertake claims adjustments for any insurance policy
  2. To have the technical knowledge on loss adjusting process\
  3. To investigate and write technical reports on claim management
